Banes sweeps ‘A’ League softball twin bill
Banes swept to doubleheader victory over Poler’s Pub by scores of 15-3 and 14-6 in Medina Women’s Softball ‘A’ League action Monday evening.
In the other doubleheader, White Birch and JR Wilson split. JR Wilson won the opener 7-4 and White Birch the nightcap 6-2.

Banes quickly moved on top to stay in the opening game by scoring 6 runs in the first inning on singles by Connie Heschke, Lindsay Chatt, Kathy Allen, Jami Chatt, Morgan Allis, Rileigh McCabe, Jen Masse, Teri Scharlau and Grace Capstick.
Multiple hitters included McCabe with 3, Capstick with 3 and Allis with a double and triple.
Poler’s Pub scored 3 times in the first as Bridget Tower had a single and Alishia Foss a two-run double.

Scoring in 6 of 7 innings, Banes again got off to a fast start plating 5 runs in the first frame.
Allis had a two-run homer run in the third inning as McCabe and Capstick both finished with a pair of hits. McCabe’s included a double.
Halle Deuil had 2 doubles and 2 RBI for Poler’s Pub as Cathy Schmitt added 2 singles and 2 RBI. Amy Jessmer a double and Tower a single.
Improving to 4-2, Banes will next face White Birch in a make-up game on July 1.
JR Wilson 7, White Birch 4
Ella Lewis, Maddy Boyle, Gracie Johnson, Anna Lewis and Kenzie Muck all had singles for White Birch. Defensively, Boyle made a great catch in left field and threw to Dana Siffringer at home for an out to complete the double play.
White Birch 6, JR Wilson 2
Ella Lewis and Muck both had 3 singles for White Birch as Brynn Howell added a double and Aubrey Lewis, Boyle, Siffringer and Mallory Albone each had a single.
