Banes rallies for 7th straight victory
Making it seven wins in a row, Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing rallied late to defeat Just Us 12-9 Monday evening in a Medina Women’s Softball League game.
Trailing 9-5, Banes rallied for 7 runs in the top of the seventh inning on a triple by Robin Blaun, a double by Kathy Allen and singles by Amy Allis, Jessica Carpenter, Alisha Foss, Sue Seefeldt and Jen Masse to claim the win.
Banes also got off to a quick start scoring 3 times in the first inning on doubles by Connie Heschke and Allen along with singles by Blaun, Allis and Carpenter.
Just Us pulled evening the fifth frame but Banes regained a 5-3 advantage in the sixth at 5-3 on hits by Heschke, Seefeldt, Masse and Blaun.
Just Us answered with 6 runs in the home half of the frame to grab what proved to be a brief 9-5 lead.
Heschke finished with 4 hits as Allen and Blaun both had 3.
Banes improves to 7-2 with the win.
