Banes, Jr. Wilson score Women’s League wins

Banes and Jr. Wilson both scored wins in Medina Women’s Softball League action Monday evening but by very different margins.

Banes nipped White Birch 11-10 while Jr. Wilson shutout Poler’s Pub 12-0.

Breaking away from an 8-8 tie, Banes regained the lead for good by scoring three runs in the fourth inning on singles by Jen Masse, Rylee VanNostrand, Releigh McCabe, Judy Blaun, Morgan Allis, Connie Heschke and Sue Seefeldt.

Banes also got off to a fast start scoring 7 runs in the first inning on singles by Connie Heschke, Lindsay Chatt, Robin Blaun, Kathy Allen,  Amy Laventer, Masse and a sacrifice fly by VanNostrand.

White Birch got back into the game by scoring 5 runs in the third to knot the contest at 8-8.

Chatt, McCabe, Allen and Allis each finished with 2 hits for Banes.

For White Birch, Aubrey Lewis had two doubles, Maddy Boyle and Maddy Gardepe a triple and single, Alecia Hinkson a double and single and Anna Lewis two singles. Ella Lewis, Kenzi Muck, Mallory Albone and Jenahlee Riemer also each had a single.

Jr. Wilson’s put two runs on the board in the first on singles from Jessica Rosenbeck, Sara Flansburg and Jaclyn Rodriquez.

In the second inning,  Jr. Wilson’s added four more runs on  singles from Chasity Chinn, Sharon Korzelius, and Rosenbeck.

Singles from Rodriquez and Kaitlyn Miller, along with a two-run double in the third inning by Arden Brighton, added another four runs for Jr. Wilson’s. A two run triple in the fourth from Rodriquez then sealed the win.

Rodriquez finished with 3 hits, while Chinn, Rosenbeck, Flansburg, and Jodi Zacher all had two hits on the night.

For Poler’s Pub, Kelly Jo Pritchard and Nicci Nicholson each had one hit.
