Banes edge past Froman

Jr. Wilson 1 romps

Two runs in the sixth inning provided the margin of victory as Banes Machine Shop/Banes Plumbing nipped Froman Ink 10-9 Monday in the A Division of the Medina Women’s Softball League.

Robin Blaun and Kathy Allen both had triples and Jamie Chatt a single in the decisive frame for Banes which scored in each of the first six innings.

Chatt and Connie Heschke both had a total of four hits and Alishia Foss two.

Banes also got off to a fast start scoring five times in the first inning on five walks and singles by Heschke, Blaun and Chatt.

Heschke also had a double during a two-run second inning and Chatt a triple and Jen Masse a double during a two-run fourth.

Froman Ink, which also got off to a fast start scoring four times in the first inning, rallied for two runs in the seventh but could not pull even.

Junior Wilson 1 – 19, Shortyz 4

Jodi Zacher was 5 for 5 with two triples, two doubles, and five RBIs to lead Jr. Wilson 1 as everyone in the lineup contributed with at least one hit.

Connie Hornquist was 4-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Jessica Rosenbeck was 3-5 with  three RBIs and three runs scored and Michelle Crandall was 3-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored as Jr. Wilson scored six times in the first, fourth and sixth innings..

Marie Bloom was 3-3 with a double and two runs scored for Shortyz.

Junior Wilson 1 is now 1-1 on the season.
