B-B nips Kendall in clash of unbeatens

In a key midseason clash of unbeatens, Byron-Bergen edged host Kendall 2-1 in a Genesee Region League girls soccer game this evening.

All of the scoring came in the first half.

Byron-Bergen grabbed a quick lead just seven minutes in on a goal by Julia Sanso but Kendall answered right back with the equalizer on a shot by Ava Quintern.

The game winner for Byron-Bergen as it turned out came on a penalty kick goal by Janessa Amesbury with 19 minutes to go in the half.

Byron-Bergen, which is ranked No. 3 in the state in Class C, improves to 8-0 while Kendall, which is ranked No. 7, is now 7-1.

Arnie Sturtevant and Alexa Robinson both had a goal and an assist for Lyndonville/Barker which is now 2-6.
