Awards presented in honor of Decker, Evoy
Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Each year the winner of the Albion vs. Medina rivalry football game is presented with the “Doc’s Rock” Trophy given in memory of Larry “Doc” Decker who taught and coached at both school districts. Following Albion’s 51-22 victory this evening Purple Eagles captains Matt Kovaleski and Demetrius Gardner were presented with the trophy by Mrs. Judy Decker and Brett Decker.
The post game ceremonies also included the presentation of the inaugural Jeff Evoy Memorial Sportsmanship Awards given in memory of Evoy who taught at Albion and also served as Medina superintendent. Mrs. Maureen Evoy and daughter Kelsey Evoy presented the award to Albion’s JaQuess Harrison and Medina’s Brendan Luthart.
