Attica tops cold shooting Lady Eagles

Unable to rebound from an ice cold shooting first half (3 of 33), Kendall bowed 48-21 to visiting Attica this evening in a Senior Night Genesee Region League girls basketball game.

A three and a fast break layup by Taylor ReQua kept Kendall within two at 7-5 late in the first period.

However, Attica closed the period with a 6-0 run to up the lead to 13-5 and then outscored Kendall 9-2 in the second quarter to stretch the advantage to 15, 22-7 at the half.

Kendall’s Taylor ReQua (10) goes in for a layup against Attica’s Madeline Drake (12).

Kendall made good on only 2 of 18 field goal attempts in the opening quarter and just 1 of 15 in the second stanza.

Kierra Pert scored 10 of her game high 17 points and Emily Cayea 8 of her 11 in the first half to spark the visiting Blue Devils attack.

Keeping the momentum, Attica outscored Kendall 16-6 in the third period to race away to a commanding 25 point, 38-13, advantage at the three-quarter mark.

Taylor Kingsbury led Kendall with 9 points as Tania Arellano had 7 and ReQua 5.

Kendall slips to 3-8 in the league and 6-9 overall.

In other G-R action, Pembroke defeated visiting Holley 50-6 and Wheatland-Chili downed visiting Lyndonville 52-27. Morgan Hungerford scored 10, Aubrey Lewis 5 and Chelsea Poler 4 for Lyndonville.
