Avenging a pair of regular season losses, No. 6 seed Attica upset No. 3 host Holley 2-1 this evening in the quarterfinal round of the Section V Class B2 boys soccer playoffs.

Attica, which lost to Holley during the Genesee Region League campaign by scores of 3-1 and 3-2, jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 13 minutes into the first half on a goal by Hayden Grover.

The Blue Devils later upped the advantage to 2-0 when Noah Craddock scored what proved to be the game winner with 24:54 remaining in the second half.

Holley did come battling back as Gabe Mendoza cut the deficit to 2-1 when he scored with 14:45 to go off an assist from Andrew Cary.

However, the Hawks could not net the equalizer as a shot from close range in the final seconds went just high with the ball landing on top of the Attica goal.

Holley finishes the season at 11-5.
