Area student-athletes earn All-WNY Academic Team honors

Eight area student-athletes have earned spots on the All-Western New York Academic team for the fall high school sports season as announced on the Section VI website.

Those honorees include Meredith Patterson (cross-country) from Albion; Kelsie Engert (field hockey), Madison Greenwald (field hockey) and Lindsey Williams (soccer) from Barker; Allison Bensley (soccer), Zach Harris (soccer) and Stella Russo (field hockey) from Medina and Avery Green (cross-country) from Roy-Hart.

In addition, over two dozen area student-athletes have earned Honorable Mention on the All-WNY squad.

Those Honorable Mention honorees are as follows:

From Barker – Courtney Bodine (field hockey), Paige Fudella (field hockey), Caitlyn Mason (field hockey), Erika Moeller (field hockey), Amber Schafer (field hockey), Rebecca Stoloski (field hockey), Allison Buzzard (soccer) , Alania Israel (cross-country) and Emma Jenks (cross-country).

From Medina – Meghan Allen (field hockey), Michaela Cardone (field hockey), Haylee Cogovan (cross-country), Colm Cooper (soccer), Greg Husung (soccer), Zach Laird (soccer), Justin Morgan (soccer), Elizabeth Newman (volleyball), Cassandra Sargent (volleyball), Ian Smith (soccer) and Carson Zgoda (soccer).

From Roy-Hart – Emma Lindke (soccer), Rachael Rausch (soccer), Amber Villella (soccer), Bethany Tanner (field hockey), John Stoddard (soccer) and Andrew Villella (soccer).
