Area H.S. teams earn Scholar-Athlete Awards
Nearly 30 Orleans County high school varsity fall sports teams have earned New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Team Awards by compiling a composite grade point average of at least 90.
Medina leads the way with nine Scholar-Athlete teams including Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross-Country, Football, Field Hockey, Golf, Volleyball and Cheerleading.
Albion has seven Scholar-Athlete teams including Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross-Country, Football, Golf and Volleyball.
Holley’s five honored squads include Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross-Country and Volleyball.
Kendall has four honored teams including Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys Cross-Country and Volleyball.
Lyndonville’s Girls Soccer and Volleyball teams have earned the academic honors.
Roy-Hart has six honored teams including Boys and Girls Cross-Country, Girls Soccer, Field Hockey, Volleyball and Cheerleading.
Barker’s four honored teams include Boys and Girls Cross-Country, Field Hockey and Golf.
Rounding out the Niagara-Orleans League schools, Akron, Newfane and Wilson each have nine honored teams including Boys and Girls Cross-Country, Boys and Girls Soccer, Football, Field Hockey, Golf, Volleyball and Cheerleading.
