Another success for Lizzy’s Loves event
Contributed Photo – The Medina High Class of 1986 held its annual Lizzy’s Loves charity golf event this past weekend. Held in memory of their classmate Liz Monell, the event included a golf tournament, which had a large field of 104 golfers, and a basket raffle at Shelridge as well as a Scavenger Hunt in downtown Medina. The two day event raised a total of $20,500. That includes $17,000 which will go to the Knights Kaderli Memorial Fund and $3,500 for scholarships. Those scholarships include $2,000 to a MHS Band member in memory of Liz Monell, $1,000 to a MHS student in memory of Roosevelt Armstrong and $500 to the Orleans Niagara BOCES Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Program taught by Mr. Rakonczay. Over the six years of the event $65,000 has been raised including $55,000 for the Knights Kaderli Memorial Fund and $9,500 for scholarships. Here members of the Knights and Monell families and members of the Class of ’86 display the check for the amount raised.
