AnJo Bombers U16 tops Niagara Expos

The AnJo Bombers 16U snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-4 victory over Niagara Expos on Tuesday at Sal Maglie Stadium to stay unbeaten in the Clarence U16 League.

The game was tied 4-4 with the Bombers batting in the top of the fifth when Zeke Callicutt singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Niagara Expos had scored three runs in the second inning

The Bombers scored one run in the top of the fourth when Colin Fragale singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

The Expos answered when an error scored one run.

The Bombers took a 6-4 lead in the seventh when AJ Seefeldt tripled on a full count with a shot down the line to the left-field fence  scoring Carson Tatro who just doubled.

Tatro was on the mound for the Bombers pitching a complete game allowing one earned run on 6 hits, striking out 10 and walking 1.

The web gem play of the game was a relay from deep centerfield at the fence in the third. Mike DiCureia threw a rope to shortstop  Seefeldt. Seefeldt then threw a laser to catcher Joe Watson who applied the tag, disrupting an inside the park homerun.

Callicutt went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bombers in hits. Addison Christ also reached base three times, scoring once.
