AnJo Bombers U16 hold off Wildcats
The AnJo Bombers 16U built a seven-run lead in the third inning and then held off Northtown Wildcats 15U’s charge for an 8-6 victory on Wednesday.
The Wildcats scored six runs in the failed comeback on a single by Ryan Stark in the third, a sacrifice fly by Tommy Binda in the third, a groundout by Nick Tiberi in the sixth, a single by Garen Faut in the seventh, and a walk by Binda in the seventh.
The Bombers opened up scoring in the second inning. Cade Littman singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
The Bombers notched four runs in the third inning. Colin Fragale, Joe Watson, and Littman all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Watson led things off on the mound for the Bombers. He went three innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out one. Reed Albee didn’t allow an earned run in three innings of relief.
The Bombers saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Thomas Furmanski, Zeke Callicutt, Fragale, and Littman all managed multiple hits. Furmanski went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the way at the plate.
