The Rampage lost a tight game to Amherst Thunder 2-1 Thursday in Metro Softball League competition.

Ashley Hill led the offense with two hits including a double in the first inning.  Hill scored the Rampage’s only run on a sacrifice by Hanna Sobieraski.

Samantha Choate, Alyssa Mayers, Samantha Coakley and Katelin Corra each had a base hit.

Sobieraski went the distance on the mound striking out 3 and giving up just 3 hits.

Defensively Coakley snagged a line drive at third base.  Thunder’s leadoff batter hit a ball to the fence in the bottom of the 6th but Rampage answered back with a perfect relay from center fielder Choate to shortstop Jayden Townsend to third baseman Hill for the tag out.

Rampage will be playing in the Battle at Fort Niagara tournament this weekend in Lewiston.
