ALBION – State officials of the American Legion visited Orleans County last Thursday and were honored at a dinner at Tillman’s Village Inn. From left are Dennis George, Sons of the Legion Detachment commander; Mike McDermott, American Legion commander; and Linda Tome, Auxiliary president.

The Orleans County American Legion family hosted a testimonial dinner Feb. 13 at Tillman’s Village Inn honoring the Legion’s Department of New York state leaders.

This was the 57th county out of 62 in New York state visited since September by the trio of leaders.

“Our Orleans County American Legion family was honored to have them visit us,” said Cathy Fox of Medina, Orleans County American Legion president.

The leaders spoke passionately about their individual projects, for which they try to raise fund throughout the year, Fox said.

Tome’s focus is Stop Soldier Suicide; George’s is the National Emergency Fund and Child Welfare Foundation; while McDermott supports the National Emergency Fund and America’s Vet Dogs.
