All State soccer honors for local duo

Two local players, Kendall senior midfielder Hailee Mitchell and Akron junior midfielder Kara Sequin, have been named to the All-State girls soccer squad.

Mitchell has been named to the Class D second team and Sequin to the Class B fourth team.

Mitchell, a repeat All-State honoree, had 20 goals and 9 assists this season as she helped the Lady Eagles capture the Genesee Region League Division 2 title and advance to the Section V Class D1 final.

Sequin, who is a three time first team Niagara-Orleans League honoree, had 32 goals and 9 assists as she helped lead Akron to the N-O League title.

Four other G-R League players have also earned spots on the All-State squad. The Wheatland-Chili duo of senior Lindsey Clar and junior Niyah Rosado have been named to the Class C first team, Byron-Bergen senior Kelsey Fuller to the Class C second team and Notre Dame senior Morgan Rhodes to the Class D fourth team.
