All-Star trio heads Hawks veteran lineup

Ten returnees, led by three Genesee Region League All-Stars, anchor the lineup for the Holley boys varsity soccer squad which has a new coach, Zach Ritz, who guided the Hawks JV squad last fall.

The senior trio of Midfielder KJ Biedlingmaier and Defenders Nathan Nothnagle and Kaydon Servais, who all earned G-R All-Star honors, head the Hawks veteran group which also includes seniors Zach Dunn (Midfielder), Andrew Drechsel (Defender), JJ Strathern (Defender), Charlie Turpyn (Forward) and Evan Valentine (Defender) along with juniors Brock Ostrom (Goalie) and Caleb Wright (Forward).

“”We’re happy to be back playing,” said Ritz. “We’ve got a good group of guys and I’m pretty excited about the season.”

The Hawks graduation losses included Forward Carson Major, Midfielders Brad Kingdollar, Kohl Morgan and Malachi Rowcliffe and Defender Ethan Waldron. Morgan earned G-R All-Star honors.

Holley, which went 6-3-1 in the league and 9-8-1 overall last fall, is scheduled to host rival Kendall in the G-R opener on October 5.

October: 5 – Kendall, 7 p.m.; 7 – Attica,  7 p.m.; 9 – at Pembroke,  7 p.m.; 14 – at Byron-Bergen, 7 p.m.;17 – at Wheatland-Chili,  7 p.m.; 19 – at Kendall, 7 p.m.; 21 – at Attica, 5 p.m.; 23 – Pembroke, 7 p.m.; 27 – Byron-Bergen, 7 p.m.; 29 – Wheatland-Chili, 7 p.m.; 31 – Kendall, 1 p.m.

November: 2 – at Attica, 5 p.m.; 5 – Pembroke, 7 p.m.
