Alexander girls surge past Kendall

Taking charge with a huge second quarter scoring burst, Alexander went on to defeat host Kendall 55-25 this afternoon in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.

Layups by Tania Arellano and Taylor Kingsbury gave Kendall a 5-4 lead at the end of the first quarter but Alexander answered with a big 24-6 second period scoring surge to break the contest open.

Two threes by Olivia George, along with a layup and a jumper by Bret Stephens, ignited the decisive uprising. Alexander then made good on 10 of 14 free throws attempts to open up a 17 point, 28-11, advantage at the half.

Keeping the momentum, the Lady Trojans then used a 20-7 third period scoring edge to extend the lead to 30, 48-18, at the three-quarter mark.

Stephens and George both finished with 11 to lead the Lady Trojans.

Kingsbury had 11 and Arellano 10 for Kendall which finishes the regular season at 4-11 in G-R action and 7-12 overall.

Attica 52, Holley 22
Building up a 23-8 halftime advantage, Attica went on to defeat visiting Holley 52-22 in a G-R contest.

Hayley Rowely and Sam Barniak both scored 6 points for Holley.

Jade Underwood grabbed off 10 rebounds and Barniak 5 for the Lady Hawks.
