Alexander girls down Lyndonville
Improving to 4-0, Alexander defeated host Lyndonville 64-55 this evening in a Genesee Region League girls basketball game.
Natalie Whitmore scored a game high 26 points and Ally Mileham added 19 to lead the way for Alexander.
Lorelei Dillenbeck scored 23 and Ella Lewis 16 for Lyndonville as Kaylee Nesbitt added 8, Karlee Rounds 5 and Alexis Hughes 3.
Getting 6 points from Mileham and 5 from Whitman Alexander grabbed a 19-16 first quarter lead. Dillenbeck hit four three’s during that stretch to help keep Lyndonville close.
The Lady Trojans extended their lead a bit to 36-28 at the half as Whitmore netted 8 and Mileham 7 in the second period. Lewis had 7 for the Lady Tigers in the stanza.
Ten third period points by Whitman helped Alexander maintain a 56-45 lead at the three-quarter mark. Lewis tallied 7 and Dillebeck 6 for Lyndonville in the quarter.
However, the Lady Tigers could get no closer than six down the stretch.
Now at 1-3, Lyndonville next visits Byron-Bergen on Saturday.
Pembroke 63, Holley 14
Emily Peters scored 23, including seven three’s, to lead Pembroke past Holley 63-14 in another G-R contest as the Lady Dragons improve to 3-1.
Halee Passarell and Tia Hofforth each scored 5 and Jailyn Bishop 4 for Holley.
Notre Dame 53, Kendall 34
Going to 4-1 in G-R competition, Notre Dame bested Kendall 53-34 as Amelia McCulley poured in 26 points.
Elizabeth Snyder scored 14, Alezya Brown 5 and T’Mia Kitchings 4 for Kendall. Snyder also grabbed off 13 rebounds and Brown 8.
