Alexander cagers down Lyndonville
Unable to overcome a 10 point deficit heading into the final quarter, Lyndonville dropped a 58-44 decision to host Alexander this evening in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game.
Trailing 40-30 heading into the final stanza Lyndonville did cut the deficit to four with less than three minutes to go but could get no closer. Casey Winiecki scored 7 and Nathan Dillenbeck 6 to lead Lyndonville’s late rally.
Dillenbeck finished with 15 and Winiecki 11 as Noah Poler added 8, Russell Stephens 6, Anthony Moule 3 and Trenton Muck 1.
Nicholas Kramer took game high honors for Alexander with 20 as Devin Dean added 15 and Jay Morrison 14. Kramer scored 8 in the final stanza while Morrison had 9 in the fourth and Dean 9 in the second.
Alexander held leads of 13-12 after one period and 25-18 at the half.
Lyndonville is now 2-2.
Notre Dame 89, Kendall 56
Building up a 46-26 halftime advantage, Notre Dame went on to down host Kendall 89-56 in a G-R contest.
Colin McCulley scored a game high 29 for Notre Dame as Mark Sanders added 17, Jimmy Fanara 12 and Ryan Fitzpatrick 10.
Derek Edck scored 16, Braxton Zarpentine 15 and Zach Barrett 10 for Kendall. Edick also had 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Zarpentine 10 rebounds.
Pembroke 66, Holley 36
Pembroke likewise built up a commanding 37-14 halftime advantage in route to posting a 66-36 G-R win over visiting Holley.
James Tette scored 11 and Broek Ostrom 9 for Holley.
