Alden girls down Albion in basketball opener
Pulling away down the stretch, Alden downed visiting Albion 52-29 this evening in a season opening non league girls basketball game.
Down 27-19 at the half, Albion trailed by just five, 29-24, midway through the third period. However, Alden outscored the Purple Eagles 23-5 over the final quarter and a half to claim the win.
Paige Derisley scored 8, Aly Knaak 7 and Breanda Johnson 4 for Albion which next hosts Elba at 7 p.m. on December 3.
