Albion’s Holman earns All-WNY X-C honors

Albion High sophomore Alanna Holman has been named to the second team of the All-Western New York girls cross-country squad.

Holman placed third at both the Niagara-Orleans League and Section VI Class C championship races this fall.

She went on to place 23rd at the state Class C championship race. It was her second trip to the state meet.

Newfane senior Kim Goerss earned first team All-WNY honors. She captured the N-O title for the fourth straight year and went on to win the Section VI Class C championship and place 6th at the state Class C race to earn All-State honors.

Newfane freshman Austin Burkard earned second team honors on the All-WNY boys squad. He won both the N-O League and Section VI Class C championship races.

The Newfane duo helped led the Panthers capture both the N-O and Section VI Class C boys and girls championships.
