Albion’s Amari Jones earns first team All-WNY honors; Medina has trio of honorees
Albion senior quarterback/defensive back Amari Jones has been named to the first team of the All Western New York football squad.
Jones passed for 1,076 yards and 13 touchdowns and rushed for 612 yards and 7 touchdowns. On defense, he made 53 tackles and had 5 interceptions.
He becomes Albion’s first first team All-WNY honoree since his head Coach David Skrip earned the honor during both his junior and senior years of 2006 and 2007.
Medina has a trio of All-WNY squad honorees as senior two-way lineman Chris Johnson and sophomore kicker Cole Callard have been named to the second team and senior running back/linebacker Noah Skinner to the third team.
Johnson, a three-year two-way starter o the line, who was a finalist for the WNY lineman of the year (Trench Award), made 46 tackles and had 1 sack.
Callard made good on 34 of 37 extra point kick attempts and also handled the punting and kickoff chores.
Skinner rushed for 1,470 yards and 27 touchdowns. On defense, he had a team leading 61 tackles and 2 sacks.
