Albion’s 3 on 3 basketball tourney is Saturday
The Albion High gym will be a beehive of activity Saturday afternoon as over 25 teams will be competing in the third annual Albion Boys Basketball Boosters 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
The event, which is schedueled to begin at 1 p.m., is open to boys and girls in grades 5-12.
There will be four grade group divisions for both boys and girls squads including 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12.
In addition to Albion squads, teams from all over the area will be competing.
There will be six 10 minute games going on at once in the double elimination tourney.
Proceeds from the tourney will go to sending some Albion players to summer basketball camps and off season training programs. Last year the tourney made it possible to send 8 players to camp.
“It’s a win-win tourney,” said Albion JV Coach Jeff Radder who organizes the tourney. “It helps our basketball program and it helps in getting kids to play basketball.”
