Albion youth gridders win two at Attica

Staying unbeaten at 3-0, the Albion Varsity Eagles defeated host Attica 34-2 Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association action.

The Albion JV Eagles likewise romped to a 34-0 victory over Attica to improve to 2-1.

In the Mini Division, Attica outlasted Albion 47-25.


Albion Varsity Eagles 34, Attica 2
Five pass interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns, highlighted the Albion victory.

Anthony Freeman, Byrce Kelly and Deyonci Farley each returned an interception for a TD while Josh Howell and Yauidel Castillo also both had picks.

Kelly also had a sack and James Denoncourt a fumble recovery. Mehkyron Drisdom had 7 tackles and Denoncourt, Freeman and Kelly 5 each.

Offensively, Albion got touchdown runs of 35 yards by Denoncourt and 4 by Thomas Furmanski. Mekhi Rivera and Robert Cooper both added extra points.

Rylend Callicut added 41 yards rushing, Marcos Velazquez 34 and Kyle Hughson 33.


Albion JV Eagles 34, Attica 0
Michael Walker ran for 2 touchdowns on carries of 59 and 50 yards for the JV Eagles which also got TD runs of 57 yards by Amari Jones and 1 yard by Tyler Gibson. Amari Jones also threw a 62 yard TD pass to Javon Jones.

Amari Jones ran for 2 extra points and passed to Gibson for a 2 point conversion.

Defensively, Javon Jones had 5 tackles and Amari Jones, Jorden Ostrander and Michael White 4 each. Amari Jones also had a fumble recovery and an interception, Javon Jones a fumble recovery and Chris Porter a sack.


Attica 47, Albion Mini Eagles 25
Makyell Walker rushed for 256 yards with 4 touchdowns on carries of 11, 31, 46 and 46 for Albion.

Destin Brown added 35 yards rushing and an extra point.

On defense, Rylissa Lesczinski had 4 tackles and Xavier Byrd 3.
