Albion JV youth gridders earn 5th win
Improving to 5-2, the Albion JV Eagles nipped visiting Oakfield/Elba 12-6 Saturday in a Niagara Orleans Football Association JV Division game.
Amari Jones ran 5 yards for one touchdown and passed 50 yards to Javon Jones for the other score to lead the Eagles. Amari Jones had 49 yards rushing, Jacob Hughson 63 and Javon Jones 91 yards receiving.
On defense, Amari Jones made 6 tackles, Jorden Ostrander, Chris Porter and Zach Olles 5 each. Olles also had a sack.
In the Mini Division, Oakfield/Elba blanked Albion 20-0.
Xavier Byrd had 33 yards rushing, Destin Brown 28 and Blake Preston 29 passing for Albion.
Defensively, Jonathan Eibl, Brown and Byrd each made 4 tackles.
In the Varsity Division, Oakfield/Elba downed Albion 33-12.
Anthony Freeman and Thomas Furmanski both had 65 yard touchdown runs for Albion which is now 4-3.
On defense, Mehkyron Drisdom made 11 tackles, James Denoncourt 8, Bryce Kelly and Deyonci Farley 7 and Freeman 6.
