Albion youth gridders cap 9-0 regular season
The Albion Varsity Division squad completed a 9-0 regular season with a 36-0 win over Newfane Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) action.
Jahmeek Riley returned an interception for a touchdown on the first play of the game, He also added a fumble recovery and 4 tackles on the day. Javon Jones also had a interception for a touchdown.
On offense, Amari Jones had 2 td passes of 62 yards to Braxton Zarpentine and 20 yards to Jacob Hughson. Sh’kwe Riley had a 50 yard td run.
Mini Division
Newfane 33, Albion 0
Noah Harrison had 6 carries for 42 yards and Nate Gibson had 5 carries for 17 yards for Albion.
On defense Gibson 6 tackles, Harrison 5 and Wes Olles 4. Mason Snook and Jaxon Lynch each had a fumble recovery.
JV Division
Newfane 41, Albion 12
Makyell Walker had 86 yards rushing including a 34 yd touchdown run for Albion. Xavier Byrd added 43 yards rushing and Auston Johnson 23. Walker also returned a kickoff 67 yards for a TD.
On defense Kwame and Raekwan Railey each had 4 tackles, Dylan Narbaugh added 2 sacks and Collin Webb 1.
