Albion youth football teams score 3 wins
Albion’s youth football teams scored a three game sweep over Oakfield-Alabama/Elba Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association action.
Beginner Division
Albion 21, Oakfield/Elba 7
Hudson Palmer’s 16 yard touchdown run on 4th down and 6 put the Eagles on top to stay. He finished the day with 100 yards and 2 scores. Elijah Cornick scored the other TD for Albion. Kenny Almonte added 53 yards, Patrick Westlund 18 and Gunner Jackson 6.
Westlund led the defense with 6 tackles, Arlen Beecher, Palmer and Almonte 4 each, Jai’heem Drisdom 3, Neil Farley and Jackson 2 each.
Mini Division
Albion 34, Oakfield/Elba 0
Jayce Torres 38 yard TD run on the third play helped jump start the Albion offense. On the day Torres finished with 84 yards and 3 touchdowns. Elian Almonte had 88 yards, Cayden Farrell 53 yards, each one added a TD. Kyle Schomske added 57 yards and Moses Taylor 24. Grayson Roberts ran a PAT in and threw one to Zacery Rice and Taylor ran one in.
Harrison Froman had a big day for the Eagles defense with 10 tackles. Isaac Button 8 tackles, Kairo Bennett 6 and a fumble recovery, Farrell and Schomske 4, Almote 3, Torres, Chase Armer and Conor Murphy 2 a piece.
JV Division
Albion 53, Oakfield/Elba 13
Seven different Eagles scored on the ground. Heyden Almonte had 116 yards and 3 scores. Colton Moreland 114 and a score. Camden Holt 83 and a TD. Carter Farrell and Hudson Armer added a TD as well. Giovanni LaMartina added 35 yards, Liam Saporito picked up 27 yards, Ethan Olles 14 and Remi Ebbs 8.
The offense also went 7 for 7 on the PAT’s. Jace DiMatteo threw a pair to Holt, one to Landon Farrell and ran one in. Farrell ran one in. Lincoln Voorhees ran one and and threw one to Olles
Armer, Jace Wright and Cooper Traxler had 5 tackles each. Connor Hinckley 4, Gavin O’Brocta, Kolton Berry, Almonte and Holt each had 3. Landon Farrell, Liam Pearl, Isaac Hewitt, Voorhees 2 each. Hank Aina, Carter Farrell and Mason Rotthoff with 1 each.
All three teams to move 5-0 and will host Pembroke Saturday at Bullard Park, 11,1 and 3 p.m.
