Albion youth football squads take two of three from Medina

Albion won two out of three games against Medina Saturday in Niagara Orleans Football Association action at Vets Park.

Albion defeated the Medina Colts 41-10 in the Mini Division game and the Medina Stallions 31-0 in the Varsity Division contest.

The Medina Broncos won the JV Division game 28-14 over Albion.

Mini Division

Albion 41, Medina Colts 10
Amari Jones had 153 yards rushing, including touchdown runs of 31 and 47 for Albion. Jacob Hughson added 35 yards rushing including a 6 yard TD, Shakarion Drisdom 34 yards including a 5 yard TD and Javon Jones 117 yards receiving including TD catches of 5 and 60 yards. Drisdom, Javon Jones and Hughson all added extra points.

On defense, Bryden McMurray made 13 tackles, Javon Jones 7, Amari Jones 6 and Sh’kwe Riley 4. Javon Jones also had a fumble recovery, Amari Jones an interception and Aquil Gaffney a sack.

Aidan Pitts had 80 yards rushing includeing a touchdown for the Colts. Levonn Guy added 24 yard rushing and 46 receiving, and Aidan Paul 50 yards passing and a two-point conversion pass to Josh Wilson.

Defensively, Ollie and Josh Wilson combined for a sack, Guy had 5 tackles and Robert Arnold 4.

JV Division

Medina Broncos 28, Albion 14
Brian Fry had 233 yards rushing, including touchdown runs of 40 and 3 yards, to lead the Medina Broncos. Tyler Chinn added a 38 yard touchdown run and Corey Saj a 16 yard TD carry.

On defense, Fry had two interceptions, Emmanual Taylor 8 tackles, 2 sacks and a forced fumble an Latrell Guy 4 tackles.

Jahmeek Riley had 110 yards rushing including a 9 yard touchdown for Albion as Elijah Lloyd added 82 yards rushing and Anthony Freeman 42 yards rushing including a 16 yard TD. Riley and Kobe Pugsley added extra points.

On defense, Jabari Johnson had 5 tackles, Pugsley and Freeman 4 and Kyle Woolston 3.

Varsity Division

Albion 31, Medina Stallions 0
Nate Moore had 76 yards rushing including TD carries of 20 and 41 for Albion. Ugene Harrison added an 80 yard punt return for one TD and a 41 yard run for another and Brillance Johnson a 12 yard TD run. Isaiah Callicutt had two extra points.

Defensively, Harrison had two fumble recoveries and Johnson one.
