Albion wrestlers go 4-1 at St. Mary’s Duals

Compiling a 4-1 record, Albion placed second at the St. Mary’s, Lancaster Dual wrestling tournament today.

Albion defeated St. Mary’s 65-12. East Aurora 60-15, North Tonawanda 48-21 and Canisius 60-15.

The Purple Eagles lone setback was a narrow 36-30 loss to Amherst which captured the tourney title with a 5-0 record.

Alex Hafner, Dayne Aina, Jr. Morales and Ellwood Hafner all went 5-0 and Andrew Uderitz 4-1 on the day for the Purple Eagles.

Alex Hafner won all five of his matches with first period pins and was named the tourney’s Most Outstanding Wrestler.
