Albion wins, Medina bows in N-O mat openers

Forfeits proved to be the difference as Medina dropped a 54-33 decision to visiting Akron this evening in a season opening Niagara-Orleans League wrestling match.

Medina took four of the six bouts decided on the mat but Akron picked up seven forfeit wins, good for a total of 42 points, which provided the margin of victory.

Christian Klonowski (112) and Nick Wood (138) scored pins for Akron.

Dominic Callara (99), Noah Skinner (152) and Davon Shine (285) all notched pins for Medina which also got a decision win from Miles Hartway (152).

Albion rolled to a 66-18 N-O opening win over visiting Wilson as Shane Hastings, Dayne Aina, Will Freeman, Cameron Bell, Yeshua Robles-Nunez, Amilcar Morales, Ellwood Hafmner, Austin Aman and Alex Hafner all scored victories,.
