Albion will host softball sectional opener
Seeded No. 8 Albion will host No. 9 Cheektowaga at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the opening round of the Section VI Class A softball playoffs.
The victor will face the winner of Tuesday’s No. 1 Williamsville South vs. No. 16 Kenmore East game in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Medina, which is seeded No. 17 in Class B, will visit No. 16 Salamanca at 5 p.m. Monday. The winner will visit No. 1 Olmsted at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The other Class B openers involving Niagara-Orleans League teams at 5 p.m. Tuesday will have No. 12 Tonawanda at No. 5 Roy-Hart, No. 10 East Aurora at No. 7 Wilson, No. 13 Akron at No. 4 Alden and No. 3 Performing Arts at No. 14 Newfane.
Barker is seeded No. 1 in Class C and will host the winner of Tuesday’s game between No. 8 Gowanda and No. 9 Maple Grove/Panama at 5 p.m. Thursday.
