Albion U18 soccer team faces front-runner
Albion’s U18 girls soccer team faces a key hurdle in their quest for a Rochester District Youth Soccer League division title as they visit the front-running Lakefront Blue at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Lakefront is currently in first place at 4-0-1 followed closely by Albion at 4-1-1 and Caledonia at 4-1.
Albion has already posted a 6-4 win over Caledonia in their only scheduled meeting while Caledonia and Lakefront have yet to play.
The Kendall U17 girls team will be looking to hold onto second place as they host third place Bloomfield at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The teams will also meet at Bloomfield on July 17.
Kendall is currently at 4-1-2 and Bloomfield at 4-2.
Both teams are well behind undefeated (7-0) division leading GVBBSC which earlier in the season downed Kendall 6-1 in their only scheduled meeting.
Other local teams doing well in Rochester District competition include the Kendall boys U14 team at 4-1-1, the Kendall girls U15 at 4-2-1 and the Albion girls U16 at 3-2-1.
