Albion U17 regains winning touch

Getting back onto the winning track Albion trimmed visiting Genesee Valley 2-1 this evening in a Rochester District Soccer League U17 Division game.

Emily Blanchard scored both goals for Albion which rebounded from a 4-3 loss to LeRoy on Tuesday.

Albion jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Blanchard scored with 10 minutes to go in the first half off a corner kick by Mikayla Yaskulski.

Genesee Valley did pull even in the second half but Albion answered right back with what proved to be the winning goal by Blanchard off an assist from Aubrey Lewis.

Ellen Narburgh in goal anchored the defense for Albion which improves to 5-1 on the season.

Albion next hosts Byron-Bergen at 6:30 p.m. on July 9.
