Albion U17 girls blank Crush

The Albion girls U17 soccer team blanked the Churchville Crush 2-0 Wednesday to improve to 1-1-1 on the season.

Albion grabbed a 1-0 first half lead on a goal by Aubrey Lewis assisted by Vivian Rivers.

The two players then reversed roles in the second half as Rivers scored an insurance goal assisted by Lewis.

Isabella Prest earned the shut out in goal as Elisabeth Baker and Natalie DiCureia were a strong defensive duo.

Albion 2, Batavia/Alexander 2

Albion battled to a 2-2 tie with host Batavia SC Alexander on Sunday.

Batavia SC Alexander came on strong putting two goals within the first 20 minutes of the game.

Albion got on the scoreboard right before the half. Kendall Deirsley brought the ball up on the right side with an excellent cross to the middle to Anna Lewis. Her shot went off the post and Aubrey Lewis caught the rebound hitting it into the net.

In the second half, Albion came out strong as Emily Blanchard netted the game tying goal.
