Albion U17 booters bow to Greece

Greece United packed all of its scoring into the final 12 minutes to earn a 3-1 win over the host Albion U17 team this evening in a Rochester District Youth soccer League game.

Albion had grabbed a lightning quick 1-0 lead in the opening seconds on a goal by Nate Scanlan but could not find the net again.

Albion, which is now 4-4, next visits Irondequoit on Sunday.

U12 Division – Amherst 8, Medina 6

The nets were peppered with a total of 14 goals as the Medina U12 Soccer Club dropped a wild 8-6 decision to visiting Amherst United Wednesday.

In a first half barrage,  Roman Heinsler,  Jack Whipple and Aiden Owczarczak all scored goals to put Medina up 3-2. Bryson Costich picked up an assist on the third goal.

However, Amherst answered with a burst of 3 goals to regain a 5-3 lead.

Heinsler scored again before the half ended on an assist by Owczarczak to keep Medina within one at 5-4.

Medina briefly retied the game at 5-5 as Jackson Moreland opened the second half with a goal aided by Zaric Boyce.

Amherst though countered with a pair of goals regain the lead for good at 7-5.

Samuel Kingsbury scored off an assist by Whipple to pull Medina back within one only to see Amherst again answer with one last goal to lock up the win.

Medina is now 4-3-1.
