Albion U16 squad bows in diamond opener
Albion’s U16 baseball team dropped a 9-1 decision to LeRoy 1 Monday in the season opening Batavia League game.
LeRoy 1, which scored 4 runs in the third inning on 2 walks, 2 singles, a hit batter and an error, added 2 runs in the fourth and 3 in the sixth.
Albion’s lone run came in the sixth as Bryce Kelly doubled and came home on a single by Mike Harling. Kelly also pitched 4 innings striking out 4.
Zander Meakin, Dylan Fox and Cody Wilson had the other hits for Albion which next faces LeRoy 2 on Wednesday.
