Albion U15 booters bow in finale

Unable to overcome a two goal deficit, front-running Albion dropped a narrow 2-1 decision to visiting Gananda this evening in the Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U15 Division season finale.
Albion, which had already clinched at least a tie for the division title, finishes the season at 7-3-2 (23 points) while third place Gananda winds up at 6-3-3 (21 points).
Runner-up Churchville, which is currently at 6-3-2 (20 points), can gain a share of the title with Albion by defeating Attica Wednesday evening.
Gananda built up a 2-0 advantage by scoring one goal with eight minutes to go in the first half and another five minutes into the second half.
Albion came battling back on a goal by Kim Keeler but could not net the equalizer.
