Albion U14 girls win soccer opener

Photos by Tom Rivers: Jaime Penna works the ball upfield for the Albion U14 girls soccer team in an 11-2 win this evening over the River Flow Soccer United team. They played at East High in Rochester.

Jaime Penna scored three of Albion’s goals. Alison Gibson had two goals. Other scorers for Albion included Abigail Whittenberg, Elizabeth Whipple, Rori Higgins, Iris Rosario-Reyes, Belen Rosario-Soto and Sophia Albanese.

Albion’s defense played tough with Bailey Gonzalez the goalie the first half and Lucy Rivers for most of the second half.

River Flow’s goals were scored by Nurto Derow and Maya Hatch. This is the first year River Flow has a U14 team in the RDYSL league. Albion’s next game is home at 6:30 p.m. Friday vs. Warsaw.
