Albion trims Hamlin in U15 diamond contest

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Zach Colacecchi drove in the go ahead run for Albion in Tuesday’s win over visiting Hamlin.

Albion bested visiting Hamlin 5-3 Tuesday evening at Barre Town Park to improve to 8-0 in Brockport Pony League baseball action.

Christopher Sacco threw for 3 innings striking out 4 and allowing only 1 hit. He was relieved by Zach Colacecchi who struck out 4. The game was closed by Caleb Fox who struck out 2 in 1 1/2 innings

Breaking away from a 1-1 deadlock an Albion uprising in the bottom of the fourth inning was ignited by a 1 out single by Jacob Hughson then a walk to Sacco.  Colacecchi banged out a sacrifice hit to score Hughson and Fox followed up with a single to score Sacco.

Two runs were scored in the bottom of the fifth on a sac fly from Kyle Sidari providing the margin of victory.

Fox finished the day with 2 hits

Defense was key in this game with a solid showing in the outfield by Tommy Fox and Jacob Hughson along with solid infield play by Bryce Wilson as all three caught key fly balls.
