Albion track teams split with Akron

Honesty Little competes in the 100 meter hurdles for Albion.

Albion romped past visiting Akron 116-25 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys track meet this afternoon.

Tre Yaskulski doubled in the 110 Hurdles and Triple Jump, Ugene Harrison in the 100 and 200 and Reuben Rivers in the 1600 and 3200 to lead the way for Albion.

The Purple Eagles also got individual event wins from Dominic Burton (400 Hurdles), Colton Howell (Pole Vault), Kevin Hillman (Long Jump), Kirk Ellison (Shotput), Jahmeek Riley (High Jump) and Nick Perry (Discus).

The loss drops Akron to 0-2.

Akron did gain a split on the day by winning the girls meet 102-39.

Haylee Hall was a triple winner in the 100 Hurdles, 100 and 200 and Lauren Wagner doubled in the 800 and 1500 to lead the way for the Lady Eagles.

For Albion, Ashlyn LeBaron won the Discus and Saleya Williams the Triple Jump.

Akron is now 2-0 and Albion 1-1.
