Albion track teams score sweep over Barker
Albion bested visiting Barker this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League track meet as the Purple Eagles won the boys’ competition 128-9 and the girls’ 107-27.
Chris Shabazz was a triple winner in the Long Jump, High Jump and Triple Jump for the Albion boys squad as Tony Freeman doubled in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Yeshua Robles in the 100 and 200.
The Purple Eagles also got individual event wins from Landin Chaffee (1600), Zach Coleccechi (400), Sh’Kwe Riley (800), Reuben Rivers (3200) Amalcar Morales (Pole Vault), Dominic DiGuilio (Shotput) and Cam Bell (Discus).
Olivia Krenning doubled in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Saleya Williams in the Long Jump and Triple Jump for the Albion girls squad which also got individual event wins from Abby Scanlan (100), Kayla Burgio (1500), S’koi Sanders-Smith (400), Alanna Holman (800), Claire Squicciarini (200), Bri Haines (Pole Vault), Grace Ellshker (Shotput) and Honesty Little (High Jump).
For Barker, Madison Gancasz won the Discus and Katelyn Goodwin the 3000.
Newfane sweeps Medina
Host Newfane swept Medina winning the boys, meet 89.5-50.5 and the girls’ competition 109-32.
Deuce Capen was a triple winner in the Long Jump, High Jump and 400 and Dakota Barker doubled in the 100 and 200 to lead the Newfane boys.
For the Medina boys Arian Cayea doubled in the 1600 and 3200 while Kaedon Cleveland won the 100 Hurdles, Christian Drisdom the Triple Jump and Ethan Stonebreaker the Shotput.
Rachel Chunco was a triple winner for the Newfane girls in the 100, 200 and 400 while Ashlynn Joseph doubled in the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and Melanie Myers in the Long Jump and Triple Jump.
For Medina, Devin Griffin was a double winner in the Shotput and High Jump and Iyla Lilleby took the 800.
Akron and Wilson split
The Akron girls downed Wilson 99-38 as Lauren Wagner doubled in the 800 and 1500, Samantha Ellis in the Long Jump and Triple Jump and Bella Asmus in the Shotput and Discus.
Maddy Schultz was a triple winner for Wilson in the 100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles and 100.
Wilson did gain a split on the day by downing Akron in the boys’ meet 81-46.
Paul Smith was a triple winner for Wilson in the 100, Long Jump and Triple Jump while Jared Jaques doubled in the 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and David Gurski in the 1600 and 3200.
