Albion turned back a late Roy-Hart rally to claim a 61-54 Niagara-Orleans League victory this evening.

Albion used a 19-8 second period scoring surge to open up a 35-20 half-time advantage. Jaquess Harrison scored 10, including three threes, to lead that Purple Eagles uprising.

The Purple Eagles maintained a 49-34 lead at the three-quarter mark.

However, Roy-Hart made things interesting down the stretch as the Rams outscored the Purple Eagles 20-12.

Jake Bruning scored 11 of his game high 27 points and Brendon Hess 6 of his 19 to lead the Rams late surge.

Harrison and Kory Reynolds both scored 13 and Tommy Mattison 7 for Albion.

Albion is now 2-8 and Roy-Hart 3-7 in N-O action.

Akron 39, Lyndonville 38

A rebound basket by Wyatt Martin with 11 seconds remaining earned Akron a narrow 39-38 win over visiting Lyndonville in a non league contest.

Derek Holtz and Mason Schultz both scored 9 and Stephen Wagner 8 for Akron which avenged an early season 60-29 loss at Lyndonville.

Eric Neace scored 15 and Nathan Poler 14 for Lyndonville which led 10-9 after one period, 24-15 at the half and 32-26 at the three-quarter mark.
