Albion tops Medina in youth football playoff

Albion defeated Medina 40-0 Saturday in the semifinal round of the Niagara Orleans Football Association (NOFA) playoffs.

Heyden Almonte had another huge day for the Mini Eagles rushing for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns on offense and 4 tackles and a pick 6 on defense.

Ethan Olles had 64 yards yards and 2 touchdowns, Camden Holt picked up 30 yards.

Albion will now play Barker Roy Hart on Saturday at Noon in Batavia for the Mini Championship.

A great defensive battle saw Albion fall short to Batavia.

Edwin Dudley has 48 yards rushing, Parker Roberts 30 and Brayden LaMartina 15.

Landyn Galligan led the defense with 6 tackles and a sack. Brycen Potter and Matthew Schomske had 6 each, Dudley 4 and LaMartina had a interception.

Noah Harrison led the offense with 69 yards rushing and the lone touchdown. Elijah Doxey added 52 yards on the ground and Hayden Cowley 64 receiving.

Harrison had 7 table, Doxey 6 and LJ Simmons 4.
