Albion tops LeRoy 2 for first victory
Putting together a big fifth inning rally, Albion’s U16 team downed LeRoy 2 by an 8-4 score Wednesday night to go to 1-1 in Batavia League baseball action.
Trailing 4-3, Albion took the lead for good by erupting for 5 runs in the decisive fifth frame on 3 walks, an error, 2 wild pitches and a two-run single by Michael Harling.
Earlier, Albion scored once in the first on a double by Deyonci Farley and twice in the third on hits by Patrick Ricker, Bryce Kelly and Farley.
Kelly also had an outstanding relief pitching effort striking out 11 of the 12 batters in faced over the last 4 innings including 8 in a row at one stretch.
Albion next faces Batavia 1 on Saturday.
