Albion tops Canandaigua to hold U18 lead

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Brylie Hapeman scored a pair of goals in Albion’s U18 win over visiting Canandaigua Thursday evening.

Front-running Albion scored a 4-1 victory over visiting Canandaigua Thursday evening in a Rochester District Youth Soccer League girls U18 Division game.

Abi Scanlan had a goal and 3 assists and Brylie Hapeman a pair of goals to lead the offense for Albion which improves to 6-1-1.

Albion grabbed a 2-1 lead in the first half on goals by Scalan and Hapeman.

Second half goals by Hapeman and Lexi Wolck, both coming off assists from Scanlan, then put a lock on the victory.

Alexis Bentley earned the win in goal as the quartet of Quinn McCue, Paige Derisley, Aly Knaak and Abbie Pappalardo anchored the defense.

Albion, which had been tied 2-2 at Canandaigua in the season opener, next visits Gananda on Sunday.
