Albion and Medina football teams both get an unexpected weekend off

The Albion and Medina football teams will both have the weekend off due to Covid 19 Pause issues.

Undefeated Albion (2-0, 3-0) was to visit Burgard (0-2, 1-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at All High Stadium in a B North Division game. The game has been postponed due to a quarantine issue at Albion.

Medina (1-0, 3-0) was scheduled to host Akron (1-0, 3-0) in a key C North Division contest. The game has been postponed due to a Covid 19 Pause at Akron.

Another B North contest will have Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville (0-2, 0-2) hosting Maritime (1-0, 1-2) at 7 p.m. Friday at Middleport.

The weekend’s C North Division competition begins this evening as Wilson (1-0, 2-1) hosts Tonawanda (0-1, 0-3) at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Holley (0-2) will host  new foe Lyons/Sodus (0-1) in an 8 Man Division game at 1 p.m.

B North Standings: Albion 2-0, 3-0; Cheektowaga 1-0, 1-1; Maritime 1-0, 1-2; Maryvale 1-1, 1-2; Burgard 0-2, 1-2; Lew-Port 0-0, 0-1; Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville 0-2, 0-2.

C North Standings: Medina 1-0, 3-0; Akron 1-0, 3-0; Wilson 1-0, 2-1; Cleve Hill 1-1, 2-1; Tonawanda 0-1, 0-3; Newfane 0-2, 0-3.

8 Man Standings: Red Jacket 2-0, Pembroke 2-0, Frewsburg 2-0, Canisteo-Greenwood 1-1, Wellsville 1-2, CG Finney 1-2, Lyons 0-1, South Seneca 0-1, Holley 0-2.

In addition, today’s Medina/Lyndonville at Akron Niagara-Orleans League boys soccer game has also been postponed due to Akron going on Pause.
