Albion and Roy-Hart/Barker swimmers sweep
Albion scored a sweep over visiting Newfane in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet this evening.
A win in the final relay event earned the Albion girls a 49-45 victory while the Purple Eagles boys squad downed the Panthers 51-40.
Kiera Sidari, Autumn Flugel, Mia Olles and Willow Gaines teamed up to score the decisive win in the 400 Free Relay to give the Albion girls the victory.
In the individual events, Sidari won both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly, Olles the 200 Free, Flugel the 100 Free and Gaines the 100 Breaststroke.
Finn McCue won the 200 Free, Justin Kania the 50 Free and Joel Slack the 100 Free to lead the Albion boys squad. Kania and Mason Giattino were both on two winning relays.
The Albion boys are now 6-1 and the girls 5-2.
The Newfane boys had Dylan Lamont double in the IM and Backstroke and Noah Kneeland in the Butterfly and Breaststroke.
Roy-Hart/Barker sweeps Akron
Roy-Hart/Barker downed host Akron 99-70 in the boys’ meet and 97-54 in the girls’ competition.
Carson Hashem was a double winner in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Sean Labiak in the 200 Free and 500 Free to lead the Channel Cats boys squad which improves to 5-1.
Julia Miles won both the IM and Butterfly and Ava Achtyl the 100 Free and Breaststroke for the girls squad which stays undefeated at 6-0.
