Albion swimmers split with Roy-Hart; Medina and Barker also earn splits in N-O action
Albion bested host Roy-Hart 114-56 this afternoon to improve to 5-0 in Niagara-Orleans League boys swim competition.
The Purple Eagles got individual event wins from Thomas Furmanski (100 Backstroke), Carlitos Sanchez (100 Freestyle), Sam Sanchez (200 Free), Isaac Neidert (100 Breaststroke), Harrison Brown (200 Individual Medley) and Matt Kovaleski (100 Butterfly).
Will Rickard won the 50 Free and Madigan Lang the 500 Free for Roy-Hart which slips to 1-4.
Roy-Hart gained a split by downing Albion 130-40 in the girls meet.
Kayla Hagen doubled in the 500 Free and 100 Breaststroke and Jordyn Bobzien in the 200 Free and 100 Free for Roy-Hart which also had Jenna Heiser win the Individual Medley, Amanda Hill the 50 Free and Madison Ohol the 100 Backstroke.
Roy-Hart is now 4-1 and Albion 0-5.
Medina likewise earned a split at Akron winning the boys meet 84.5-81.5 and losing the girls competition 109-61.
Hunter Heil and Mason Pecoraro teamed up with Ray Paull and Jack Hill to win the 200 Medley Relay and with Daniel Heil and Dawson Brown to take the 200 Free Relay for the Medina boys. Paull also won the 100 Breaststroke and Pecoraro the 50 Free.
Akron had a trio of double winners as Jacob Copti took the IM and Butterfly, Andrew Buyea the 200 Free and 500 free and Simon Jonathan the 100 Free and Backstroke.
Medina is now 3-2 and Akron 1-3-1.
Madison Harris doubled in the 200 free and 500 Free and Skyler Masse in the IM and Butterfly to lead the Akron girls which stay perfect at 5-0.
Barker also earned a split with Newfane winning the boys meet 106-59 and losing the girls 94-73.
Collin Webb doubled in the 50 Free and Backstroke and Andrew Jenks in the Individual Medley and Butterfly to pace the Barker boys squad which improves to 4-1.
In the girls meet, Lauren Gaughran doubled for Newfane in the IM and Butterfly and Sara Gendrue for Barker in the 100 Free and Breaststroke.
Newfane is now 3-2 and Barker 2-3.
