Albion quintet has big day at Class B swim sectionals
Contributed Photo – Albion’s quintet of Harrison Brown, Carlitos Sanchez, Matt Kovaleski, Sam Sanchez and Thomas Furmanski enjoyed a very successful day at the Section VI swim championships placing in a total of six events to advance to this coming week’s Section VI championships.
A first place finish by the 200 Medley Relay quartet of Thomas Furmanski, Matt Kovaleski, Sam Sanchez and Carlitos Sanchez led Albion’s efforts today at the Section VI Class B swimming championships held at Maryvale.
Kovaleski, Sam Sanchez and Carlitos Sanchez also teamed up with Harrison Brown to place third in the 200 Freestyle Relay and fourth in the 400 Free Relay.
In the individual events, Kovaleski placed second in the 100 Breaststroke in a school record time of 1:06.38, Sam Sanchez third in the 100 Butterfly and Furmanski fourth in the 100 Backstroke.
The Purple Eagles finished fifth in the team competition.
